Colorado has had five presidential major disaster declarations due to natural hazards since 2012 and a number of additional fire management assistance declarations.
The All-Hazards Incident Management teams in Colorado provide resources and expertise to communities dealing with these disasters, and provide additional capacity to the state when the complexity of an event has grown, which according to the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM), has been proven to save lives, reduce disaster losses, and expedited incident stabilization with lower cost and quicker recovery.
Including the Boulder IMT, there are five certified Colorado Type 3 IMTs. Visit their team websites by clicking the icons below.
Leveraging relationships developed through joint training, exercises, annual conferences, and other events that the teams manage, the strength of Colorado’s IMT network is called upon to provide the support that communities need when disasters strike.
